At Special Friends, our Occupational Therapy program helps children develop the skills they need to participate confidently in everyday activities. We focus on improving physical coordination, sensory processing, fine motor skills, self-care abilities, and overall independence through engaging, child-friendly therapy sessions.
Many children with autism, developmental delays, Down syndrome, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and other special needs may find daily tasks such as writing, dressing, eating, or playing challenging. Our experienced occupational therapists assess each child's unique needs and create personalized therapy plans that support their growth at their own pace.
We use play-based activities, sensory integration techniques, and hands-on exercises to make therapy enjoyable while helping children build essential life skills. Every session is designed to encourage confidence, participation, and gradual progress in everyday routines.
Our Occupational Therapy program focuses on:
Fine motor skills for writing, drawing, and using everyday objects
Gross motor skills for balance, coordination, and movement
Sensory integration to help children process sensory information effectively
Hand-eye coordination and body awareness
Self-care skills such as dressing, eating, grooming, and toileting
Attention, focus, and task completion
Independence in home, school, and community activities
A well-equipped sensory-friendly environment allows children to explore movement, touch, balance, and coordination in a safe and supportive setting. We use activities such as puzzles, obstacle courses, balance exercises, sensory play, and creative tasks to strengthen both physical and cognitive abilities.
Family involvement is an important part of our therapy approach. We work closely with parents and caregivers by sharing practical strategies and home activities that reinforce progress beyond therapy sessions. Regular assessments and goal reviews ensure that each child continues to develop meaningful skills.
Our therapists also collaborate with educators and other specialists whenever needed to provide consistent support across different environments.
At Special Friends, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to become more independent and confident. Our Occupational Therapy services are designed not only to improve physical abilities but also to help children actively participate in learning, play, and daily life with greater confidence.
Every small achievement brings a child one step closer to a more independent and fulfilling future.
